Steam UK picked up 2 more gold awards at this year’s ISP Awards held at London’s Hilton Hotel.

Scottish & Newcastle’s John Smith’s People’s Darts took gold in the alcoholic drinks category whilst Jygsaw’s brand, Scrumpy Jack, won the Small Budget Category with their Rural Retreats campaign.

John Smith’s beat Strongbow’s ‘BowTime’ and AB InBev’sDiscover True Dedication’.  The judges were impressed by Scottish & Newcastle’s exploitation of their sponsorship of the World Lakeside BDO Darts Tournament; this saw a unique nationawide pub darts challenge to find 2 finalists to play on stage at Lakeside before the world men’s final.  Rather than just badging an event they were able to fully engage their consumers in a money cant buy experience.

Scrumpy Jack beat SCA Hygiene Products and HSBCto the top spot.  The winning formula asked consumers to re-appraise the brand as a premium and relevant cider, and made optimum use of the free packaging media; a sales promotion campaign offered attractive rural retreat prizes chosen to reperesent the very best in country getaways, sharing the values of Scrumpy Jack .  This resulted in a turnaround of growth all within a very competitive budget.

These 2 golds will sit alongside last year’s haul on an increasingly busy trophy cabinet.
