Steam Lokomotiv vs Bengal Tigers:
Steam entered this week’s game low on confidence. Due to some late withdrawals and injuries during the warm up they started the game with four and a half fit players.
Ben Dudman took on the unenviable job of marking their star striker with only one fully functioning leg! Having lost 3-2 to this team earlier in the season, hopes were not high! Tactics discussed involved shooting from anywhere and time wasting.

Steam Lokomotiv vs NLJ Rovers
Graham had a 50mph crash on his scooter two weeks ago. This loss was infinitely more painful.
Only last week we had just cruised to a 6-2 win over the league leaders, Detica FC, and we had already beaten last night’s opponents NLJ Rovers in the first game of the season, 8-7. We were fielding an even stronger team, we had a formation, we had publicly humiliated them on our blog (avid readers). We had high hopes with a nod to Neville Southall’s maxim “If you don’t believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed at the end of the day.”

NEWS GENERAL:

The Telegraph released alarming figures about the impact of alcohol consumption on our health. Apparently hospital admissions due to drink reached 860,000 in the past year. While the drinks industry is certainly doing its bit to combat irresponsible drinking, that number is still pretty shocking.

Using catchy music in the background, flashing lights and dancing women, bet365 Bingo has launched a bizarre but memorable new TV advert! Oh did we forget? The women happen to have bingo balls for heads!
The ad is targeted at “bingo heads” throughout the UK that just love to play a bit of bingo in their spare time. It’s a far cry from the standard bingo advert we are used to, with a woman sitting with a laptop on her lap and shouting that she has won the jackpot on online bingo.
It is apparent that Bet365 Bingo is really catching the attention of newcomers to bingo, the site is also being advertised in magazines in an effort to bring more ‘bingo heads’ to the bet365 bingo site.

Google has reiterated that the worst of the recession is over this week by posting a 7% surge in revenue to over £3.64bn and profits of £1bn for three months to September.
The optimism reflected what the company said was an “across-the-board recovery in online advertising”, with even the struggling financial services sector showing a return to growth. While search engine advertising has held up better than most other forms of online media in the downturn, CEO Eric Schmidt said the advertising revival appeared to have spread across the internet more broadly.

The companies behind the screening of England’s World Cup qualifier in Ukraine as a pay-per-view online broadcast today hailed it as a success after almost half a million people tuned in, despite complaints about the picture quality.
The Swiss agency Kentaro, left holding the rights after Setanta went bust this year, and Perform, the internet broadcaster it employed to show the match after receiving no “satisfactory” offers from TV broadcasters, said almost nine in 10 viewers who responded to a post-match survey found the picture quality “satisfactory or better”.
