Steam Vs IT Milan
Steam arrived with a strong team to face the young pretenders with the faux Italian name. Their defending could not be less Italian and Steam were keen to make them pay. For the first time in their illustrious history, Steam took the lead directly from kick off. Mike Grey hit the ball straight in the top corner leaving the opposition to discuss if it was a legitimate goal. Although we do not always keep to the rules, at least we know what they are!
Steam settled into a neat passing game with Ladd and Knighty dominating the midfield. Grey added a further three goals to take the game to 4-0. The Milan kids lost their composure and started making ridiculous fouls, they had a man sin binned but he really should have been sectioned! The bad tackles continued to fly in and an altercation with Chopper Adil led to two further sin bins.
The lack of players on the pitch created a lot of space and Knighty took full advantage with two expertly taken goals. Rob was running the show at the back and created at least three Steam goals while Graham was taken great pleasure in showing the young bucks how tough tackling should be done.
Grey added a further goal and Tim ‘The Cat’ Beer managed to limit them to two goals. The game finished 7-2 and talk turned to the crucial match against the Detica where trophies were there to be won!
The bad blood continued in the pub with a heroically drunk Irish man threatening the bar staff and then the Steam team, with him ‘ringing his gypsy mates to sort us out’. The afore mentioned Gypsies never did show up, they must of heard about the tough tackling style of our defensive enforcers and thought better of it. Terry Henry then did his thing and a contentious night was complete!
